For the past 400 years the printed word was the most efficient method for disseminating ideas. The information age has changed the economics of printing and offers new possibilities for the distribution of information.

Although offset printing is still an effective technology for distributing information, it is no longer the only method. Digital printing, variable data page generation, CD-Rom, websites, email and flash video are just a few examples of how technology is impacting the distribution of information. Our website offers an overview of how these divergent technologies can be deployed in a complementary product offering.

HBP’s most exciting advances have been in our Internet Services Group and through the innovative application of e-commerce solutions to meet the changing needs of our customers. Many of the websites that we initially created for customers have evolved from billboards describing goods and services to working websites designed to provide business solutions.

Our Internet Group specializes in database and e-commerce applications. We have developed several innovative products with direct application in the printing industry. For example, we operate a customizable website for online fulfillment that permits customers to place orders and to check inventory over the Internet. We maintain 15 online bookstores for customers, and we're currently working on integrating the fulfillment and bookstore services. Additionally, we have developed a collaborative, PDF proofing website that has been well-received in the marketplace.
